G-BRER “Rabbit”

This lovely original 1946 Aeronca Champion nicknamed “Rabbit” was booked in for a repaint with The Somerset Aeroplane Company in the winter of 2023/24 for a fresh new look. A decision was made to ground the aeroplane over the winter whilst some essential maintenance was carried out by us, this included new hardware and a thorough inspection of all sub assemblies including the main lift struts. New cylinders were also fitted to the aeroplane as part of her continued airworthiness programme. During this down time the aeroplane went through the paint process with us and some new fabric was applied to the empennage.
